Beanstack’s at-a-glance Lexile title averages, enhanced student reading logs, and Lexile Insights page provide all school administrators—including principals, media specialists, and librarians—with actionable insights to foster student free-choice reading growth.
Note: Students do not have access to any Lexile data in Beanstack. This is meant to ensure that students continue to select independent reading books freely. Beanstack’s Lexile data is intended only for educators to help provide a holistic view of independent reading at the student and school levels.

The Lexile Insights dashboard presents an overview of Lexile data based on the titles that students have logged in Beanstack. You can also set parameters to view this data within specific periods and at various levels. We calculate these insights on a weekly basis, so this provides a great way to track trends in your school’s independent reading over larger periods of time. Media specialists and librarians can use this data to inform library catalog decisions that enrich independent reading, while principals and other school administrators can observe and analyze trends in overall school reading behavior.
Within your Lexile Insights dashboard, you can customize a report of your overall school Lexile data. This data is presented in a visually engaging chart and a detailed table and can be broken down by grade level, classroom, or teacher by selecting one of the tabs toward the top of the page.
You also have the ability to tailor these metrics based on timeframe and scope. You can select your desired timeframe and click “Update Dashboard” to refresh your statistics. You also can filter the values displayed in the Lexile Title Averages chart by selecting from the dropdown menu in the top right corner.
Finally, to dig deeper into these datapoints, click the download button to the right of the “Update Dashboard” button. This will export a CSV with your school’s Lexile data based on the filters you’ve selected.
