How to Pause and Restart Rostering Syncs Over the Summer

We recommend that all districts and schools pause their rostering syncs over the summer to avoid unintended deletion of student reading logs due to changes in rostering data.

How It Works

🏫 District Administrators

On your District Settings page, you’ll see a new section called “Summer Rostering Sync Pause Dates” where you can set Pause and Restart Syncs Dates by month and day.

These settings will apply to all schools in your district.

🧑‍🏫 School Administrators (Media Specialist Plus)

If you’re managing a standalone school site, you’ll see the same Summer Rostering Sync Pause Dates options in your Setup > Roster Sync Settings. You can customize them just like district admins.

If your school is part of a district implementation, you’ll see the sync dates but won’t be able to edit them—your district admin sets them.

How Syncing Will Work

  • Our system will check the pause and restart dates each night before running the sync. Starting the day after your pause date, we will not update any rostering data.
  • A full sync will automatically run on the restart date to ensure all student, teacher, and section data is up to date.
  • It is possible to leave the dates blank, in which case rostering syncs will run continuously throughout the year.
