How to duplicate an existing challenge

Instead of re-using a challenge and updating the dates to a current time period, you should duplicate that challenge. Here’s some things to consider:

  • On library sites, library administrators are the only accounts that can duplicate challenges.
  • On school sites, media specialists plus can edit all challenges and duplicate them, while teachers and media specialists can duplicate any challenge but only edit the challenges they clone or create.

Follow the instructions below to duplicate a challenge:

1. Log in to the admin view of your site.

2. Go to Challenges and click the “All Challenges” tab.

3. Duplicate any current programs or past programs simply by clicking the + icon next to the challenge you want to duplicate.

4. When you click the duplicate symbol, a copy of your challenge will be generated. From here, you can customize the challenge as you see fit.

Note: A duplicate challenge will copy everything from the original challenge including name, header image, dates, as well as all previous badges and prizes. You may edit anything within this new duplicate challenge, and it will not impact the original challenge.

Other important reminders when duplicating a challenge:

  • Update the name of the challenge to remove “Copy of ...” and choose a unique name that is different from other challenge names on your site.
  • Update the dates of the challenge as needed.
  • Double-check any prizes that may be attached to badges and update if necessary!
