Follow the steps below to download and filter your desired section report:
- Log in to the admin view of your school site.
- Navigate to Reports and go to the “Participation” section.
- Note: Media specialists plus can view data for all students and sections at the school, but teachers can only view data for the sections and students rostered to them.
- Select your desired report (listed below). If needed, choose the desired section in order to view the data.
- Use the “Individual Student Participation: By Classroom” report to view and filter participation data for individual students within a specific section, like to identify the top reader in a class.
- Use the “Individual Student and Section Participation” report to view and filter participation data for individual students within all sections, like to identify the top readers in each class.
- Use the “Student Participation Totals: By Classroom” report to view and filter participation totals for all sections, to help you identify the top-performing classes.
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner to customize your columns and make sure “Primary Teacher,” “Section,” and “Subject” are all checked.
- There are also columns for section name, grade, and all their logging and challenge information.
- Click “Change Dates” to filter the data to a desired time range.
- Click the download icon in the top right corner once all your report settings are in order and select your desired report delivery method.
- Once the report finishes downloading, it will appear in your local device’s downloads folder. Open it in your spreadsheet software, like Excel or Numbers, or in Google Sheets.
- Select the desired column(s) and filter the desired columns by Z to A or sort descending, depending on the software you’re using. You’ll likely want to filter the logged minutes or logged books column, and potentially the section, primary teacher, or subject columns, to identify the top readers or top sections.
Viewing top readers with Individual Student Participation reports
Teachers and media specialists can use reports to seamlessly view top readers. Teachers will be able to see all students rostered to them, while media specialists will see all students at the school.
- Log in to the admin view of your school site.
- Navigate to Reports.
- Select the “Participation” section.
- Under the “Individual Participation Reports” section, choose one of the following:
- “Individual Student Participation and Top Readers By Challenge”: Shows participation information for individual students in a specific current or past challenge.
- “Detailed Reader Report (Students)”: Shows participation data for every student in your school.
- Click “All Readers” near the top of the report and toggle to “Top Readers.”
- This sorts the top 100 readers in descending order by logged minutes.
- If a student hasn’t read anything, they won’t be reflected on the Top Readers sorted report, so it is possible to have fewer students listed once you change the report from All Readers to Top Readers.
- You can also click “Change Dates” to restrict the data to specific dates, like the current month or school year.
Just like any other report, it can be favorited, customized, or downloaded by clicking the icons in the upper righthand corner of the screen.
