What is a bingo reading challenge?

Bingo reading challenges display their badges on a bingo card, and can be completed when a reader earns all the badges in a row, column, or diagonal and unlocks the bingo badge. They can also include an optional full card badge that’s awarded when a reader earns all the badges on the card.

How can I set up a bingo reading challenge?

Just like any other challenge, you can either create a bingo reading challenge from scratch or activate a bingo reading challenge template. Follow the steps here for more details.

What types of badges can be included on a bingo card?

Bingo cards can include any combination of logging, review, and activity badges. They cannot include points badges or repeatable activity badges. They also can’t include reading list functionality. And the challenge’s registration, bingo, and full card badges cannot be added to the card.

What badges are required for a bingo reading challenge?

A bingo reading challenge must include a bingo badge and the exact number of badges required for your selected card size: 25, 16, or 9 badges, not including the bingo badge and any registration and full card badges.

How do I add a free space to a bingo reading challenge?

You must fill all your bingo card’s spaces with badges before publishing your challenge. Even though you can’t leave a blank space on your challenge’s bingo card, you can create a “Free Space” activity badge and activity that readers simply check off to earn.

Can I add the same badges to multiple squares of my bingo card?

No. Each badge must be used once, and each square of your selected bingo card must be filled before publishing your bingo reading challenge.

Can I add tickets, rewards, or certificates to the badges in a bingo reading challenge?

Yes!

Can a bingo reading challenge be ongoing?
No. You must add a start and end date to a bingo challenge in order to publish it.

Can I edit a bingo reading challenge after it goes live?

You can edit the challenge setup details once your bingo challenge is published and live, but you cannot add or delete badges or edit the order of the badges on your bingo card.

What counts as challenge completion for a bingo reading challenge?

There are no customizable completion requirements for a bingo reading challenge. When a reader earns the bingo badge by earning all the badges in a row, column, or diagonal, they complete the challenge.

How can I view data for bingo reading challenges?

You can view participation data for bingo reading challenges in reports and insights the same as you would for any type of reading challenge. Bingo and full card badges are counted challenge badges, like registration and completion badges, and those who earn bingo are counted as having completed the challenge.
