How to use challenge codes
A challenge code is like a password that’s required to view and register for a challenge. It can help you provide tailored programming to a certain group, like staff, partners, or a specific classroom.
Using challenge codes requires communication with target participants outside of Beanstack to give out codes. Because codes restrict access to challenges, they should not be used for challenges where you want widespread community participation.
To set a challenge code for your next targeted challenge:
- Log in to the admin view of your site.
- Go to Challenges and edit a draft challenge.
- On the “Challenge Setup” page, scroll down to the “Challenge Availability” section and toggle on the “Require a code to register for this challenge?” setting.
- Type a unique challenge code in the field that appears below. You can only use each code once, and it must be between 5–25 alphanumeric characters, with no spaces or special characters.
