When do participants receive the welcome email?

When a new account is created in Beanstack, either through the reader registration flow or from a staff member’s admin dashboard, the account creator receives the customized welcome email if an email address is included on the account. New staff accounts and offline reader accounts added in the admin dashboard do not receive welcome emails.

Note: Readers receive this email the first time they sign up for Beanstack. If someone returns for another summer with Beanstack using their existing login and enrolls into a new challenge, they will not receive the welcome email again.
