How to successfully transition leadership of your Beanstack site
Here are a few key steps for both the outgoing administrator and the incoming one to take to ensure a seamless transition and continued reading success in your community!
Outgoing Beanstack administrator
- Notify your Client Success Manager of the upcoming leadership change. It’s helpful to connect your replacement at the library with your CSM, or even to schedule a meeting between all of you, as well as to share the date of your departure or change in duties. Not sure who your CSM is? You can always reach out to our helpdesk.
- Share your admin login credentials with the incoming Beanstack administrator. Once they’re able to log in, they can update the contact information and password by following these steps.
Incoming Beanstack administrator
- Get in touch with your Client Success Manager and confirm that you are now in charge of your library’s Beanstack site. Hopefully your predecessor already connected you; if not, you can reach out to our helpdesk to get squared away!
- Log in to your site with your admin credentials and update the contact information. The main administrator account is your gateway to creating reading challenges, editing your landing page, updating your site settings, and pulling reading data.
- Get to know Beanstack. After logging in to your admin account and viewing your admin dashboard, you can click “View Reader Experience” on the side of the page to switch to the reader view and participate in the challenge. At any time, you can switch back to your admin dashboard by clicking “View Admin Experience” on the side of the page. You can also browse our self-service help articles for specific, detailed instructions and guides.
- Get connected. Join the email list for our monthly Library Client Update newsletter and request to join the Beanstack User Group on Facebook.
- Check out your CSM’s weekly office hours and our Beanstack trainings. We offer a host of live trainings in the fall and spring and also have previous webinar recordings available on-demand. The Library Admin Essentials course is especially helpful for new Beanstack administrators!
